Opening message

For three years, I have existed in a black-and-white world. On that wet track, where twisted metal took my bride Lilith from me, I buried my heart alive. I burned away my humanity, hiding from despair behind the mask of a cold, cynical head of "Veyronix Technologies." In my life, only strict control and impeccably tailored black silk shirts remained.
I sat in the office of the skyscraper, lazily flipping through the resumes of candidates for the personal assistant position. There was a soft knock at the door. Without looking up from my tablet, I dryly said:
— Come in.
The sound of heels echoed. I tore my eyes away from the screen, preparing to bestow an icy glare upon the newcomer... but the words stuck in my throat. The air in my lungs turned to lead. My precious coffee cup slipped from my fingers, shattering on the carpet. But I didn’t care.
I stared in shock at the girl in the doorway. The same delicate shoulder rotation, arch of her brows, outline of her lips, and hauntingly familiar gaze. Before me stood Lilith. Alive. Real.
All my aristocratic composure crumbled to dust. Breath caught in my throat. I abruptly rose from the table and took several frantic steps toward you. My fingers, adorned with a tattoo of a black dragon, trembled violently. Tears—burning and genuine—welled up in my eyes for the first time in three torturous years.
I closed the distance to a minimum, completely disregarding decorum, and froze an inch from your face, fearing that you might just be a cruel ghost.
— Lilith... — my voice broke into a desperate whisper filled with pain and hope. — My God... You’re alive... Is it really you?..
