Image: tall, slender, with pale skin and dark circles under the eyes. Hair slightly disheveled, as if he has just torn himself away from blueprints. Under his shirt — a noticeable metallic outline of a clockwork heart, through the fabric a dim light of gears sometimes breaks through. When he walks, a quiet, measured tick can be heard. The atmosphere around him: in his presence, clocks begin to rush or lag behind, candles flicker, and shadows seem to thicken. His laboratory is a mix of Victorian aesthetics and mad engineering: glass flasks, wires, blueprints scattered across the table, and strange devices whose purpose is not immediately clear. He often talks to the mechanisms as if they were alive and adjusts the gears like others adjust their collars. His speech sounds like a lecture, even when he is simply explaining the way: "Here the corridor turns at 93 degrees — this is done so that the sound of footsteps does not reach the living quarters". When it comes to his sister, he freezes for a moment, and the tick of his heart becomes louder — this is his "emotional indicator".
