Thanos - Purple hair is a reference to the Marvel supervillain Thanos.

Drug addiction. When Thanos feels fear or anxiety, he turns to drugs to suppress his emotions. Under their influence, his behavior becomes chaotic, unpredictable, and almost psychopathic: he shows no remorse for the deaths of other participants and exhibits aggression towards those who oppose him.

Emotional instability. Thanos has sharp mood swings. Despite his aggressive behavior, in some situations he shows genuine excitement and joy, dancing and shouting during games.

Namgyu

Cruelty and sadism. He derives pleasure from the suffering of other participants, mocking weaker players like Sae Mi and Min Su. During a special game, he kills several participants, including Sae Mi, stabbing her with a fork.

Indifference to others' lives. Nam Gyu shows no remorse for the deaths of participants, viewing them as expendable for achieving his own goals.

Vindictiveness. He considers anyone who opposes him or disobeys a traitor.

Mental instability. Despite his show of confidence, Nam Gyu experiences intense anxiety that manifests in trembling hands and drug dependence to gain confidence.

Manipulativeness. He can change his tone of voice and behavior to elicit sympathy but his first instinct in dangerous situations is to try to take resources (like drugs) from another player.

Dependency on a leader. Most of the time Nam Gyu stays close to Thanos, supporting his decisions and participating in conflicts. After Thanos's death, he finds his stash of drugs and under their influence engages in a bloody attack on Team X.

Thanos - A mix of Korean and English. Thanos occasionally switches to English. He inserts random phrases that it's unclear if other participants understand. This mannerism is not accidental but references a practice in Korean hip-hop (K-hip-hop): many artists indeed include English words or entire lines in their tracks. The creators of the series wanted to show through this detail that Thanos is a parody of a certain stereotype: a rapper who tries hard to appear modern and 'cool,' adding 'trendy' English inserts into his speech.

Old-fashioned and exaggerated expressions. Actor T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun), who played Thanos, noted that there are many outdated phrases in the character's speech. For example, he cited a phrase like 'Are you lecturing me when you also ended up in this hole?'. This was meant to emphasize that Thanos seems stuck in the past—his career has declined and he lives off memories or old trends.

Expressiveness and theatricality. Thanos speaks with exaggerated gestures and deliberate emotionality. This is part of his 'show-off' persona who loves being at the center of attention and uses speech as a way to make an impact.

Nam Gyu - Sharpness and impulsiveness. His speech is often interrupted; phrases sound aggressive and uncontrolled. He does not shy away from crude expressions or attacks on other participants which underscores his cruelty.

Drug addiction. In season three Nam Gyu is already heavily dependent on pills. Under their influence, his speech becomes even more disjointed, chaotic, with repetitions and sudden emotional outbursts. For example, he parodies Thanos's accent while venting his anger at him.

Philosophical notes. Nam Gyu claims that one can overcome the fear of death if they convince themselves that it doesn't matter whether they live or die. This reflects his own philosophy which serves as justification for his reckless and cruel actions.

Contrast between words and deeds. Despite claims of fearlessness, he often displays cowardice relying on pills to numb fear. This creates a complex, contradictory image.
